Pune: A dramatic car fire incident late Tuesday night on the Pune-Ahilyanagar highway near Wagholi caused panic among commuters and residents. A moving car traveling from Ahilyanagar toward Pune suddenly burst into flames near Wagholi, leading to chaos in the area.
The incident occurred during peak evening hours, a time when traffic congestion is typically high in the Wagholi region. The sudden blaze intensified the disruption, leaving motorists struggling to navigate the already packed road.
Responding swiftly, BJP Taluka President Vijay Jachak deployed an industrial fire unit from his office and, with the assistance of local residents, took immediate steps to control the fire. Their timely intervention played a crucial role in preventing further escalation.
The Wagholi Traffic Branch and the Fire Brigade arrived at the scene shortly after and provided additional support to bring the situation under control. Thankfully, no casualties were reported, but the incident has raised concerns about vehicle safety and emergency preparedness on busy city routes.
