Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken a firm stand in the fight against drugs, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy. He has warned that any police personnel or officer, regardless of rank, found involved in drug-related cases will face direct suspension.

Speaking at the Maharashtra Police Conference, CM Fadnavis highlighted the government’s strict approach towards drug-related offenses. He stated that the three newly introduced laws in the country were discussed, along with a presentation on cyber platforms. The conference also focused on ensuring fast-tracked charge sheets in cases of crimes against women to guarantee timely justice.

He assured that industrial sectors should not face unnecessary harassment and emphasized the importance of swift filing of charge sheets in women’s harassment cases. He also mentioned that tracking mechanisms are being implemented to monitor this process.

Additionally, the CM announced provisions in the new laws for the return of seized assets to the rightful owners, ensuring that such cases are resolved within six months. This, he said, would help decongest police stations.

The government is committed to strict enforcement of these policies to ensure a safer and drug-free Maharashtra, he asserted.
