Pune: An unusual sight startled residents of Kapad Galli in Raviwar Peth on Thursday when a cow was discovered stranded on the second floor of a building, sparking a flurry of concern and curiosity in the typically calm neighborhood.
Witnesses reported that the cow had somehow climbed the staircase to the upper floor but was unable to make its way back down. Startled and unsure how to assist, local residents promptly contacted the fire brigade for help.
Upon arrival, rescue personnel assessed the situation and concluded that guiding the cow down the stairs was not a safe option due to its size and visible distress. A crane was swiftly summoned to execute the rescue. After carefully planning the operation, the fire brigade team used the crane to hoist the cow and bring it safely to the ground.
The dramatic rescue drew a sizable crowd, with bystanders cheering as the animal was lowered to safety. Thankfully, the cow was unharmed and appeared calm after the ordeal.
Municipal officials are now investigating how the cow gained entry into the building and reached the upper floor, as questions remain about the unusual incident.
