Pune : A shocking incident occurred in Bhosari, Pimpri-Chinchwad, when a customer discovered a piece of a sharp object inside a pizza ordered from Domino’s Pizza. The alarming discovery, which took place last night in the Indrayani Nagar area, has raised serious concerns about food safety and hygiene at one of India’s leading pizza chains.
Incident Details: Arun Kapse, a resident of Indrayani Nagar, ordered a Rs. 596 pizza for his family from the Domino’s outlet at Jai Ganesh Empire Chowk. While enjoying the pizza, Kapse felt something unusual stuck in his teeth. Upon closer inspection, he was horrified to find a broken piece of a pizza cutting knife embedded in the pizza.
Customer’s Shock and Response: Shocked by the discovery, Kapse immediately called the Domino’s Pizza manager to report the issue. However, he was initially met with a rude and dismissive response. Despite this, Kapse insisted that the matter be investigated further, prompting the manager to visit his home. Upon seeing the broken knife fragment, the manager was equally stunned and acknowledged the severity of the situation. Domino’s Pizza refunded Kapse for the pizza order and expressed regret over the incident.
Legal Action: Determined to prevent similar incidents in the future, Arun Kapse has decided to file a formal complaint with the Pune District Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Kapse expressed his concern over the potential health risks such incidents pose and stressed the importance of maintaining proper food safety standards. He believes that Domino’s Pizza’s negligence in this instance could have serious consequences for consumer safety.
Domino’s Pizza’s Response: Although Domino’s refunded the pizza cost, the incident raises critical questions about quality control and hygiene standards at food chains. The discovery of a sharp object inside the pizza is likely to trigger discussions about food safety regulations, with many customers now questioning the safety practices at the popular pizza chain.
