Pune: The Khadak Police have registered an extortion case against Lalit Sasane, an alleged member of the notorious Andekar gang, who is already facing multiple serious charges, including robbery, kidnapping, attempted murder, and violations under the Arms Act and the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA).
Sasane, who has also been accused of misusing the Right to Information (RTI) Act to intimidate police officers, is believed to be actively involved in criminal activities alongside gang members Krishna Andekar and Ganesh Vad. Several cases against them are already lodged at Chaturshrungi and Faraskhana police stations.
The recent complaint was filed after Sasane allegedly demanded ₹6 lakh from an individual, threatening to implicate them in a false case if they did not comply. Acting on the complaint, the Khadak Police registered an extortion case against him. Further investigations into the matter are underway.
