Pimpri Chinchwad: A man was arrested on Thursday evening in Jadhavwadi, Chikhli, for possession of 7.48 grams of methadrone meant for illegal sale. The police seized methadrone valued at Rs 7,48,900 along with a mobile phone worth Rs 10,000 from the accused.
The arrested individual has been identified as Ameerali Asgarali Siddiqui (32), a resident of Bhandup West, Mumbai. The complaint was filed by Police Constable Pramod Rohidas Garje (36) from Crime Branch Unit 1 at Chikhli Police Station.
Investigations revealed that Siddiqui had purchased the methadrone from Parvez Hasan Khan of Andheri, Mumbai. The Chikhli Police continue to probe the case further.
