Pune: In a major crackdown on illicit liquor production, Loni Kalbhor police seized illegal alcohol and brewing materials worth over ₹22 lakh. The operation, spearheaded by Police Inspector Waheed Pathan with assistance from the Crime Branch Unit and local police personnel, led to the discovery of an extensive illegal liquor manufacturing unit on the village outskirts.

Acting on a tip-off received by Police Staff Officer Madan Kamble, authorities launched a search near Ramdara Road in an isolated area beside a stream. Police Sub-Inspector Rajendra Panhale, along with Anil Jadhav and other team members, swiftly conducted the raid.

Upon arrival, officers uncovered 1,500 liters of illegally brewed liquor valued at ₹100 per liter, along with 20,000 liters of brewing chemicals worth ₹50 per liter. Additional materials used in the production process were also seized, bringing the total confiscated goods’ value to ₹22.6 lakh.

The primary suspect, Mukesh Karnawat, managed to escape under the cover of darkness, fleeing into a nearby forest. A case has been registered against him under the Maharashtra Liquor Act, and police have intensified efforts to track him down.

This successful operation was made possible through the coordinated efforts of local law enforcement, including Police Inspectors Madan Kamble and Rajendra Mulik, along with officers from Crime Branch Unit 6. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating illegal liquor networks and ensuring strict action against offenders.
