Pune: A tragic incident occurred at the famous Tarkarli beach in Sindhudurg district, where five tourists from Pune’s Uruli Devachi area were caught in the sea currents. Unfortunately, two of them lost their lives.
The deceased have been identified as Shubham Sushil Sonawane (22) and Rohit Balasaheb Koli (21). Another tourist, Omkar Ramchandra Bhosale (24), is in critical condition and has been admitted to the Sindhudurg District Hospital for treatment.
The incident took place around 12 PM on Saturday when three tourists from Pune ventured into the deep waters of Tarkarli beach for a swim. Despite warnings from locals about high tide, they entered the sea. While one of them was rescued by locals, the other two tragically drowned. Their bodies have been recovered and taken to a rural hospital.
According to local sources, the group had come to Tarkarli for tourism. However, despite the sea being rough due to high tide, they chose to enter the water, leading to this unfortunate accident.
