Pune: Amid rising unpaid electricity dues, Mahavitaran has intensified its disconnection drive, cutting power supply to 25,434 defaulters in the last 24 days across Pune city, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and rural areas. Despite repeated appeals, consumers have failed to clear outstanding bills amounting to a staggering ₹88.45 crore, prompting strict action from the power utility.

Mahavitaran, which relies on timely bill payments to manage electricity procurement and financial obligations, has ramped up recovery efforts under the direct supervision of Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar. Superintending Engineers Yuvraj Jarg, Sinhajirao Gaikwad, Ravindra Bunde (Acting), along with Executive Engineers and other officials, are actively monitoring disconnection drives across various areas.

The breakdown of dues and disconnections is as follows:

Pune City: Consumers owe ₹40.09 crore, leading to 10,177 power disconnections in the last 24 days.

Pimpri-Chinchwad: Outstanding dues total ₹18.40 crore, with 7,796 consumers having their electricity supply cut off.

Rural Areas (Ambegaon, Junnar, Maval, Khed, Mulshi, Rajgad, Haveli Talukas): Pending payments amount to ₹29.96 crore, resulting in 7,461 disconnections.

MSEDCL has urged all defaulting consumers—residential, commercial, and industrial—to immediately clear their dues to avoid further disconnection. To facilitate payments, consumers can conveniently settle their bills online via www.mahadiscom.in or through the Mahavitaran mobile app from the comfort of their homes.

With the power disconnection drive in full swing, Mahavitaran has made it clear that non-payment will lead to strict action. Consumers are advised to clear their pending bills at the earliest to restore uninterrupted electricity services.
