Pune: In a proactive move to tackle escalating traffic and safety challenges in the Undri-Mohammadwadi locality, the Mohammadwadi Undri Residents Welfare Development Foundation hosted a public interaction with Pune’s Additional Commissioner of Police, Manoj Patil. The meeting was held on May 18 at the Nyati Ethos Clubhouse and witnessed strong participation from local residents.

During the session, community members raised several critical issues affecting daily life. These included excessive noise from modified bullet motorcycles, unauthorized parking by schools and wedding venues, insufficient police patrolling, disturbances during festival celebrations, and the disruptive movement of heavy vehicles—such as dumpers, water tankers, and cement trucks—especially during rush hours. A collective request was made to increase police presence at Kalepadal Police Station and the Undri Police Chowky to ensure better vigilance.

In response, Additional CP Patil revealed plans for the launch of a dedicated mobile app designed to streamline complaint registration and response. This digital initiative aims to make it easier for citizens to report issues and for the police to act promptly. Additionally, he spoke about the development of an Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS), which will focus on easing traffic congestion, enhancing monitoring, and reducing the load on ground personnel.

Patil encouraged residents to remain actively engaged in civic matters, urging them not only to report concerns but also to propose feasible solutions. “Working together as a community and administration is the best way forward to improve our living environment,” he affirmed.
The gathering also included a commendable blood donation camp, organized in partnership with Ruby Hall Clinic. A total of 30 residents came forward to donate, highlighting the community’s spirit of service and cooperation.

The event proved to be a meaningful platform for dialogue between citizens and law enforcement, laying the groundwork for more responsive and inclusive governance in the Undri-Mohammadwadi area.
