Pune: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is preparing to announce a new city president for its Pune unit following the resignation of senior party leader Deepak Mankar. This update was confirmed by NCP’s state president, Sunil Tatkare, who noted that Mankar’s resignation has been officially accepted.
Mankar, a well-known figure in Pune’s political landscape, had been at the helm of the city unit and was instrumental in driving local organisational efforts.
The party is currently evaluating several contenders for the position, with an announcement expected soon. This leadership change comes at a pivotal moment as the NCP gears up for the upcoming local body elections and seeks to bolster its foothold in the Pune region.
