Pune: Beginning June 9, 2025, Pune Metro commuters will benefit from a range of upgraded facilities designed to improve accessibility and ease of travel. The newly inaugurated Gate No. 3 at Mandai Metro Station is now open to the public, while escalator services have become operational at key entry points of Ramwadi and Kasarwadi stations.
Mandai Metro Station is strategically located in Pune’s bustling central area, making it a crucial hub within the metro network. Surrounded by prominent landmarks such as Mahatma Phule Mandai (the city’s largest vegetable market), the commercial zone of Raviwar Peth, and popular religious and tourist spots, this station caters to heavy footfall throughout the day.
The freshly launched Gate No. 3, located near the Tilak Statue at Mahatma Phule Mandai, will significantly ease access to well-known destinations including:
Babugenu Ganpati Temple
Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati
Datt Mandir
Tulshibaug and Tulshibaug Ram Mandir
Shanipar
This upgrade is particularly beneficial for pilgrims, tourists, and shoppers who frequently visit the traditional peth areas and religious landmarks in the vicinity.
In a simultaneous development, Pune Metro has activated escalators at additional entry points in two more stations to enhance commuter comfort. Starting today, Gate No. 2 at Ramwadi Station and Gate No. 3 at Kasarwadi Station are equipped with fully functional escalators. These new additions complement the existing stairs and elevators, offering improved convenience—especially for the elderly, children, and individuals carrying luggage.
Pune Metro continues to prioritise commuter-friendly advancements in infrastructure. These latest enhancements are aimed at improving the overall travel experience and encouraging more citizens to opt for safe, modern public transport.
