Pune: A tragic accident occurred on the Market Yard-Gultekdi flyover on January 31, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. The victim, identified as Nelson Paul D’Souza (50) from Dnyaneshwar Colony, Kasarwadi, Mumbai-Pune Road, was struck by a speeding motorcyclist who fled the scene.
The incident took place around 4:00 PM when D’Souza was riding his motorcycle on the flyover. The collision left him with serious head injuries, and despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
D’Souza’s son, Gairish (19), has filed a complaint with the Swargate Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the unidentified motorcyclist responsible for the hit-and-run. Police Sub-Inspector Shailesh Alate is investigating the incident and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the fleeing rider.
