Pimpri Chinchwad: In a proactive move aimed at improving road safety before the onset of the monsoon, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has rolled out a new digital solution — a Pothole Management System — that empowers citizens to report potholes directly using a mobile app. The announcement was made by PCMC Commissioner and Administrator, Shekhar Singh.

Monsoon seasons typically bring a surge in pothole complaints across the city. To tackle this recurring issue efficiently, PCMC has integrated a user-friendly feature within its mobile platform, enabling residents to lodge complaints, upload location-tagged photos, and monitor the progress of their reports in real time.

How to Report a Pothole:

Download the Smart Sarathi PCMC mobile app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Look for the “Report Pothole / खड्डे नोंदवा” feature under the PCMC Services tab.

Alternatively, users can search for “PCMC Pothole Management” directly in their app store or scan the official QR code for quick access.

Registration Steps:

Sign up with your name, mobile number, and email address.

Authenticate your account through an OTP verification sent to your email.

Filing a Complaint:

Ensure GPS/location services are enabled on your device.

Use the “Zoom GPS Location” tool to mark the exact pothole location on the map and add a nearby landmark.

Choose the category of the issue — whether it’s a shallow or deep pothole, damaged chamber, or utility trench.

Input approximate dimensions in meters.

Attach clear photographs of the pothole and submit the complaint.

Once submitted, users will receive a unique complaint ID and a tracking link via email. The issue is then forwarded to the responsible junior engineer and supervisory staff for timely action. If unresolved, the system escalates the matter to senior authorities. After resolution, a closure report along with photos will be sent to the complainant’s registered email address.

“PCMC remains committed to delivering pothole-free roads. This new system not only empowers residents to report problems conveniently but also ensures greater transparency and accountability in how we address road maintenance,” said Commissioner Shekhar Singh.

This app-based system is a key milestone in PCMC’s journey towards smarter urban infrastructure, making roads safer and more reliable for all citizens.
