Pune: To ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety during the Shivjayanti 2025 celebrations, the Pune City Traffic Police have introduced several road closures, diversions, parking arrangements, and modifications to PMPML bus routes. These measures will be effective from 6 am on Wednesday until the conclusion of the processions, given the large number of people expected to participate in the birth anniversary celebrations of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Traffic Diversions for Shivjayanti 2025
To accommodate processions, including the ‘Jai Bharat, Jai Shivaji’ Padyatra, the following traffic diversions will be in place:
Vehicles traveling from Jijamata Chowk to Swargate via Shivaji Road will be rerouted through SG Barwe Chowk, Jangali Maharaj Road, Khandoji Baba Chowk, and Tilak Road.
Traffic from Ganesh Road heading towards Phadke Huad and Jijamata Chowk will be redirected via Daruwala Bridge.
Laxmi Road will experience diversions through Sant Kabir Chowk and Samarth Division during processions.
Vehicles moving from Puram Chowk to Shivajinagar via Bajirao Road will be redirected through Tilak Road, Alka Talkies Chowk, and Fergusson College Road.
Traffic from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk and Bajirao Road to Futka Buruj will be diverted via Kelkar Road.
Temporary Parking Arrangements for Attendees
To accommodate the large number of visitors, designated parking areas have been allocated at:
Sangamwadi Parking – For travelers arriving from the eastern side.
FC Ground Parking – For those accessing via FC Road.
Nadipatra Parking – For visitors from Shivajinagar.
Agri College Ground – For those coming via JM Road.
Changes to PMPML Bus Routes
Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will implement alternate routes for city buses during the celebrations. Commuters are advised to check for updated schedules to avoid inconvenience.
Traffic Restrictions for ‘Jai Shivaji – Jai Bharat’ Padyatra
The padyatra will take place from 7 am to 2 pm, covering areas such as COEP Ground, SG Barve Chowk, ASPMS College (Shivaji Statue), and other key locations. During this period, traffic movement on FC Road and JM Road will be restricted.
