Pune: In yet another shocking act of violence, Pune witnessed a brutal murder early Sunday morning, as a young man was beaten to death in the Ambegaon area, reportedly over a land dispute.
The incident occurred around 4:30 AM within the jurisdiction of the Ambegaon Police Station, where the victim, Shubham Subhash Chavan, was attacked and killed by three individuals, including a known criminal, Amar Sakore. According to preliminary police information, the motive behind the attack was a long-standing property disagreement.
Eyewitness reports and investigation details suggest that the assailants used a wooden stump and bamboo stick, inflicting severe head injuries that led to Chavan’s death on the spot.
Police have registered a case against Amar Sakore and two of his accomplices, all of whom reportedly have criminal backgrounds. The Ambegaon police are currently conducting a manhunt to apprehend the accused and have assured strict action under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
This incident adds to the growing list of violent crimes in Pune, raising concerns over rising lawlessness and the need for stronger preventive measures in high-conflict zones like Ambegaon. Residents have expressed fear and demanded increased police presence in the area.
