Pune: In a significant move to upgrade infrastructure and ease traffic congestion in the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR), the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has initiated land acquisition activities for 150 proposed roadways and nearly 85 hectares of reserved land parcels, starting May 28.
This large-scale development spans several talukas, including Maval, Haveli, Mulshi, and Shirur, and is part of a broader plan to promote systematic urban expansion across PMR’s extensive 6,246.26 sq. km area.
To ensure smooth and structured execution of the project, PMRDA has issued a tender to hire a consultant who will manage the entire land acquisition process. This includes acquiring land for both road projects and plots earmarked for urban infrastructure.
As outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP), the chosen consultant will handle all statutory and administrative aspects of land procurement. Their responsibilities will encompass compulsory acquisition, direct purchases, and compliance with the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act of 2013.
Key duties will include conducting cadastral and revenue surveys, drafting acquisition proposals, estimating compensation for affected assets like buildings, wells, and trees, and assisting in joint measurement exercises. The consultant will also liaise with local bodies and revenue departments to streamline the process.
The consultancy will be contracted for a period of 30 months, with work expected to commence within 15 days of appointment. Interested firms must submit their online bids by June 6, 2025.
